Sounds of Mars – NASA Science

Mic to File Touchdown

The group added a further experimental, off-the-shelf industrial microphone to the aspect of the rover, to report the sounds of Entry, Descent, and Touchdown. Whereas it wasn’t in a position to accumulate audio from the turbulent entry and descent, this microphone did survive the touchdown, and has recorded further sounds of the rover on Mars.
