Defending champion Mars, which swept the WPIAL Class 2A lacrosse titles a yr in the past, will begin this season’s playoffs because the No. 1 seed in each the girls and boys tournaments.

Undefeated Mt. Lebanon (15-0) topped the Class 3A women bracket adopted by No. 2 Pine-Richland (14-1-1), No. 3 Higher St. Clair (11-5) and No. 4 Fox Chapel (12-4).
