NASA Picks UF Mission for Enhanced Earth Water, Ice Tracking

NASA has chosen a group of College of Florida aerospace engineers to pursue a groundbreaking $12 million mission geared toward bettering the way in which we observe modifications in Earth’s buildings, reminiscent of tectonic plates and oceans.

The mission, titled “GRATTIS” (Gravitational Reference Superior Know-how Check in House), was the only real proposal chosen in a nationwide competitors.

GRATTIS will exhibit the efficiency of state-of-the-art sensors that measure nanometer-scale gravitational modifications from area to observe actions on the Earth’s floor and inside.
