LE MARS—Kenneth A. Hoss, 88, of Le Mars, handed away at his residence on Thursday, Might 2, 2024. 

Kenneth Andrew Hoss was born on Aug. 7, 1935, in Remsen, to Frank and Clara (Lewis) Hoss. The household lived in rural Le Mars the place Ken graduated from Gehlen Catholic Excessive College in 1955.

On July 5, 1958, Kenneth and Waunita Guerdet had been united in marriage at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Armstrong. The couple met at a dance at Briar Cliff Faculty.

Ken labored as a mechanic, store foreman and salesman at Pews, Inc., from 1955 to 1968. In 1968, he went to work for Meis Seed and Feed and labored there till 1998. Ken additionally farmed throughout this time from 1964 to 1984. From 1998 to 2023, Ken went to work as a custodian at Kluckhohn Elementary College and MidAmerican Vitality. Ken formally retired from Kluckhohn in December 2023. 

Ken was a member of All Saints Catholic Parish – St. Joseph Church and the Knights of Columbus. 

Music has all the time performed an essential function in Ken’s life and continues together with his kids, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren in the present day. 

Ken can be lovingly remembered by his kids; Teresa (Tom) Sauer of Le Mars, Laurie (George) Baack of Toledo, Cathryn (Brad) De Boer of Le Mars, Mary (late husband, Mike – January 2023) Durrett of Le Mars, and James (Jessica) Hoss of Kearney, Nebraska; grandchildren, Nicholas (Tara) Sauer, Michael (Ali) Sauer, Kelby (Brett) Wulfekuhle, Madison (Eric) Wilkerson, Shania (Alex) Currier, Joseph De Boer, David Stafford, Lydia, Nathan, Christopher and Bennett Hoss; great-grandchildren, Emerson and Avery Wulfekuhle, Kenlee and Rylah Wilkerson, Maeve Sauer and Tatum Currier; his brother, Darrell (Karen) Hoss; sister, Carol Kessler (Sam Risolvato); sisters-in-law Loretta Hoss, Mary Jane Butler and Jayne Guerdet; and brothers-in-law, Mike Frick and Bob Cornelsen.

He was preceded in demise by his dad and mom; his spouse, Waunita Hoss (Nov. 17, 2023) his son, Mark Hoss (1984); son-in-law, Mike Durrett (2023); brothers, Richard Hoss, Donald “Bud” Hoss and Leonard Hoss; sisters, Donna Wells, Helen Bruning, Joanne Frick and Patricia Cornelsen; sisters-in-law, Virginia Guerdet, Elaine Herker; brothers-in-law, Ralph Kessler, Daryl Wells, Harold Bruning, Dwight Guerdet, Dennis Guerdet, Douglas Guerdet; and father- and mother-in-law, Leo and Florence Guerdet. 

Mass of Christian Burial will happen at 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, Might 8, at All Saints Catholic Parish – St. Joseph Church in Le Mars. The Rev. Doug Klein will officiate. Burial will comply with at Calvary Cemetery in Le Mars. Visitation with the household current will start at 4 p.m., Tuesday, Might 7, with a prayer service at 6:30 p.m., adopted by a Knights of Columbus Rosary, all on the church. There may also be one hour of visitation earlier than the Mass on Wednesday. 

The Mauer – Johnson Funeral House is aiding Ken’s household with preparations. Memorials could also be directed to the LCHS Basis or St. Croix Hospice.
