‘Phillipine Mars’ goes to Pima Air and Area Museum

After final month’s joyful information that Martin Mars C-FLYL ‘Hawaii Mars’ goes to be saved as an exhibit within the British Columbia Aviation Museum, there is good news on sister ship C-FLYK ‘Phillipine Mars’ (ex BuNo 76820, c/n 9264) too. On 25 April, the Pima Air and Area Museum in Tucson (AZ) introduced it has purchased C-FLYK!

Proprietor Coulson Aviation retired C-FLYK in 2012 and C-FLYL flew its final firefighting mission in 2015. Since then each big waterbombers have been provided on the market. Scramble reported earlier on this sale. They have been each based mostly at Sprout Lake in central Vancouver Island (Canada) and are nonetheless saved there.

There have been plans to promote ‘Phillipine Mars’ to the Nationwide Naval Aviation Museum in Pensacola (FL) and because of this it was repainted in its unique US Navy colors.
