The China Nationwide Area Administration (CNSA) and Thai Ministry of Larger Training, Science, Analysis and Innovation on Friday collectively signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) on cooperation within the exploration and peaceable use of outer area and an MoU on cooperation within the worldwide lunar scientific analysis station.
Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn of the Kingdom of Thailand attended and witnessed the signing. Zhang Kejian, director of the China Nationwide Area Administration, delivered a welcome speech on the ceremony.
In accordance with the MoU, China and Thailand will arrange joint committees and working teams to strengthen cooperation within the fields of area exploration, area utility and area capability constructing by planning and implementing joint area initiatives, scientific alternate packages and personnel coaching packages, exchanging knowledge and data, and collectively organizing symposiums and scientific workshops.
The 2 sides will deal with the demonstration, engineering implementation, operation and utility of the worldwide lunar scientific analysis station, arrange skilled groups to conduct analysis from the three facets of science, engineering and worldwide cooperation, and type a cooperation plan. On the similar time, different international locations, worldwide organizations, analysis institutes, universities, industrial entities and scientists are welcome to affix the worldwide lunar scientific analysis station program, and to profit from joint area exploration actions.
Beforehand, China and Thailand signed a MoU on area cooperation in 2018 to collectively construct the Lancang-Mekong river spatial data alternate and cooperation heart and the Lancang-Mekong river distant sensing knowledge heart. In 2023, an area climate monitor developed by Thailand has been chosen to be part of the Chang’e-7 spacecraft’s payload. China and Thailand will cooperate on lunar exploration missions sooner or later.
The Chang’e-7 is a deliberate robotic Chinese language lunar exploration mission anticipated to be launched in 2026 to focus on the lunar south pole. Like its predecessors, the spacecraft is called after the Chinese language moon goddess Chang’e. The mission will embrace an orbiter, a lander, a mini-hopping probe, and a rover.
