David Varenhorst, 68, Le Mars | Obituaries

LE MARS—David Varenhorst, 68, of Le Mars, handed away Friday, March 1, 2024, on the Good Samaritan Society of Le Mars.

David Henry Varenhorst, the son of Elmer and Cleone (Peters) Varenhorst, was born on Jan. 3, 1956, in Le Mars. He grew up on a farm west of Le Mars. He attended faculty in Le Mars and graduated from Le Mars Neighborhood Excessive Faculty in 1975. 

Following highschool, he labored varied jobs in Le Mars. He labored for Life Expertise Coaching Heart in Le Mars and later within the kitchen at Westmar Faculty.

He moved to Le Mars in 1991. He loved residing in his rental for the final 30 years.  

He was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church – Johnson Township, rural Merrill. 

He loved driving his 3-wheeler. He additionally loved consuming at Lally’s Eastside in Le Mars. Listening to Johnny Money music and watching tv have been additionally issues he loved. 

Survivors embody his brother, Dan (Cherie) Varenhorst of Le Mars; a nephew: Matt (Kellie) Varenhorst of Le Mars and their kids: Madison, Everlynn, Henry, Jack, and Loren; a niece: Lisa Varenhorst (fiancé, Scott Ulerich) of Sioux Falls, South Dakota, and her kids: Dev, Strader, and Aleyha; a nephew: Kent (Samantha) Varenhorst of Le Mars and their kids: Brooklyn, Eden, and James; his aunt, Lois Varenhorst of Le Mars; and a number of other cousins.  

He was preceded in loss of life by his mother and father, Elmer and Cleone Varenhorst. 

Funeral providers will probably be at 7 p.m., Monday, March 4, at Rexwinkel Funeral House in Le Mars. The Rev. Dr. Jean Ziettlow will officiate. Personal household burial will at Memorial Cemetery in Le Mars. Visitation with the household current will probably be from 5 p.m. till service time on Monday on the funeral residence. Preparations are with the Rexwinkel Funeral House in Le Mars.
