Jolene Hamann, 92, Le Mars | Obituaries

LE MARS—Jolene B. Hamann, 92, of Le Mars, handed away on Saturday, Aug. 26, 2023, on the Good Samaritan Village in Le Mars. 

Jolene Barbara Hamann was born on Could 21, 1931, in Homer, Nebraska, the daughter of Leo and Margaret (Goodsel) Wilke. She was raised within the Homer space and graduated from Homer Excessive Faculty in 1949. Following highschool, Jolene attended Wayne State Faculty in Wayne, Nebraska, the place she majored in training. Her first educating job was in a rustic college in Dakota County, Nebraska.

On June 2, 1951, Jolene and Fred Orville “Fritz” Hamann had been united in marriage in Dakota Metropolis, Nebraska. They made their dwelling in Le Mars. Whereas Fritz served his nation in the course of the Korean Struggle, Jolene continued her educating profession in South Sioux Metropolis. They returned to Le Mars following the conflict and Jolene stayed at dwelling with their youngsters. In 1970, Jolene went to work as a receptionist at Wells Blue Bunny. She retired in 2001.

Jolene was an energetic member of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Le Mars. She served on quite a few committees together with Altar Guild, Sunday Faculty and Trip Bible Faculty. She additionally served as a volunteer at Good Samaritan (Brentwood) Village. In her spare time, Jolene loved flower gardening. 

Grateful to have shared her life are her daughters, Margaret “Margie” Pigg of Le Mars, and Pleasure Tooker and her husband Dennis of Orange Metropolis; grandchildren, Bobby Pigg of Sioux Metropolis, Troy (Jen) Cooke and great-grandchildren, Allie and Katie of Sioux Metropolis, Jamie Tooker and great-grandchildren, Trenton, Cole, Brenna and Taya of Orange Metropolis, Katie (Jon) Jeltema and great-grandchildren, Austin (Allison), Luke and Adyson of Orange Metropolis, and Brian (Crisinda) Tooker and great-grandchildren, Jackson and Kaliegh of Orange Metropolis; Kym Seashore of Le Mars, and great-grandchildren, Taylor and Bailey, of Le Mars; son-in-law, Invoice Seashore of Le Mars;  and a sister-in-law, Jane Wilke of Sioux Metropolis.

She was preceded in dying by her dad and mom; husband, Fritz on June 10, 1989; a son, Terry Hamann; a daughter, Mary Seashore; a son-in-law, David Pigg; grandchildren, Alisa Tooker and Kyle Seashore; and a brother, Stanley Wilke.

Funeral companies will happen at 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, Aug. 29, at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Le Mars. The Rev. Christian Meier will officiate. Burial will comply with at Memorial Cemetery in Le Mars. Visitation will start at 9:30 a.m., Tuesday on the church.
