Communications with Earth – NASA Mars

After touchdown on Mars, the Perseverance rover will depend on the Mars Relay Community orbiters overhead to be in contact with engineers on Earth, similar to the 2 present NASA missions already on the floor of the Crimson Planet–the Curiosity rover and InSight lander.

This Mars Relay Community contains all of the NASA orbiters: Mars Reconnaissance Orbiter, Mars Odyssey, and MAVEN; and two ESA missions: ExoMars Hint Gasoline Orbiter (TGO) and Mars Specific.
