LE MARS — Dylan DeRocher, 19, of Le Mars, handed away peacefully surrounded by his household on Wednesday, Feb. 7, 2024, at his dwelling in Le Mars following a brave battle with most cancers.
Dylan Christopher DeRocher, the son of Chris and Lisa (Shea) DeRocher, was born on April 26, 2004, in Sioux Metropolis. He attended college in Le Mars and graduated from Le Mars Group Excessive College with the Class of 2023. Whereas in class, Dylan was energetic in wrestling, soccer, and soccer. He additionally served on scholar council.
At an early age, Dylan started serving to his father with the household enterprise working the excavator by age 5. He liked spending time at Lake Okoboji. He loved working for Okoboji Boat Works throughout the summer season of 2022.
Dylan was a member of All Saints Catholic Parish in Le Mars the place he taught CCD for a few years.
Wrestling was Dylan’s favourite sport. He spent many weekends rising up wrestling at varied tournaments with the Le Mars Wrestling Membership. He was a member of Crew Iowa that traveled to Kentucky and Tennessee the place he earned All American Honors for his accomplishments. He loved fishing, wake browsing and snowboarding.
He was most happy with his position as godfather to his godson, Isaac.
Throughout his freshman 12 months, he was recognized with Ewing’s Sarcoma when docs discovered a tumor wrapped round his backbone. He was informed he would by no means wrestle once more. Survivors embrace his mother and father, Chris and Lisa DeRocher of Le Mars; his siblings: Makenzie DeRocher, Brooklyn DeRocher, and Drake DeRocher, all at dwelling; maternal grandparents, Mike and Donna Shea of Le Mars; paternal grandparents, Karen and Ken Nelson of Le Mars and Pat and Cyndi DeRocher of Anthon; his aunts and uncles: Kristin (Sean) Donahue of Huntsville, Alabama, Kevin (Tera) Shea of Coralville, Jenny (Matt) Schaefer of North English, Sarah (Bruce) Phillips of Eden Prairie, Minnesota, Matt DeRocher (Sophie Dufour) of Atlanta, Georgia, Phil (Vanessa) DeRocher of Lee’s Summit, Missouri, Christina (Steve) Engstran of White Bear Lake, Minnesota, Jacque (Jeff) Norris of Alexander, Virginia, and Scott Nelson of Iowa Metropolis; and quite a few cousins.
He was preceded in demise by his maternal great-grandparents, Roman and Vivian Shea and Ray and Frances O’Kane; and his paternal great-grandparents, Eldon and Mildred Ruden and Robert and Bonnie DeRocher.
Mass of Christian Burial shall be 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, Feb. 13, at All Saints Catholic Parish – St. Joseph Church in Le Mars. The Rev. Douglas Klein will have fun Mass. The Rev. Bruce Lawler will concelebrate. Burial will comply with at Calvary Cemetery in Le Mars. Visitation with the household current will start at 3 p.m., Monday, Feb. 12, at All Saints Catholic Parish – St. Joseph Church. There shall be a scriptural prayer service at 7 p.m. Visitation will resume from 9:30 a.m. till service time on Tuesday on the church.
In lieu of flowers and items, memorials may be made to the Dylan DeRocher Scholarship Fund, in care of the household.
