Barrow-born Jordan William Hughes has designed an elevator that transports passengers into house.

His futuristic idea was awarded a prize for house structure and innovation from the Jacques Rougerie Basis, in Paris.

Mr Hughes admits that the concept could also be fanciful right this moment however he believes house elevators will likely be used sooner or later.

Mr Hughes works as an architect in London and designed the Ascensio house elevator in his spare time.
