Defence Ministry signs contracts worth ₹802 crore with Jupiter Wagons, BEML

The Ministry of Defence on Thursday inked two contracts for procurement of 697 Bogie Open Army (BOM) Wagons at 473 crore with Jupiter Wagons Restricted and procurement of 56 Mechanical Minefield Marking Tools (MMME) Mark II at a value of 329 crore with BEML Ltd.

The BOM Wagons and MMME might be produced with gear and sub-system sourced from indigenous producers, giving a lift to the indigenous manufacturing and participation of the personal sector in defence manufacturing, the defence ministry mentioned in an announcement.

The BOM wagons, designed by Analysis Design and Normal Group (RDSO), are specialist wagons utilized by the Indian Military for mobilisation of the Military items. BOM wagons are used to move mild autos, Artillery Weapons, BMPs, Engineering Tools and many others. from their peacetime areas to operational areas.
