Defence Ministry signs contracts worth ₹802 crore with Jupiter Wagons, BEML

The Ministry of Defence on Thursday inked two contracts for procurement of 697 Bogie Open Navy (BOM) Wagons at 473 crore with Jupiter Wagons Restricted and procurement of 56 Mechanical Minefield Marking Gear (MMME) Mark II at a value of 329 crore with BEML Ltd.

The BOM Wagons and MMME can be produced with tools and sub-system sourced from indigenous producers, giving a lift to the indigenous manufacturing and participation of the non-public sector in defence manufacturing, the defence ministry stated in a press release.

The BOM wagons, designed by Analysis Design and Customary Group (RDSO), are specialist wagons utilized by the Indian Military for mobilisation of the Military items. BOM wagons are used to move gentle automobiles, Artillery Weapons, BMPs, Engineering Gear and so on. from their peacetime areas to operational areas.
