Ruckus mars Assembly session; AAP slams L-G, officials for ‘stalling’ works

The second and concluding day of the Delhi Meeting session on Monday noticed BJP members being marshalled out for disrupting the proceedings even because the ruling AAP leaders slammed Lieutenant-Governor V.Ok. Saxena and bureaucrats for “stalling” varied works.

Speaker Ram Niwas Goel ordered the BJP MLAs to be marshalled out after they continued to disrupt the proceedings over the demand.

“When the Opposition leaders demanded a dialogue on this matter, the Speaker refused outright. Regardless of serving notices, no dialogue was allowed,” stated Mr. Bidhuri.

In the meantime, Water Minister Atishi, talking throughout a dialogue, accused the BJP-led Centre of “weaponising forms” in opposition to her authorities, apparently referring to the tussle with the Centre-appointed L-G over the management of Delhi authorities bureaucrats.

‘Tasks pending’

The federal government is dealing with issues in even getting small works performed within the Delhi Jal Board (DJB) as bureaucrats will not be releasing funds, she alleged. 

“Each time the Finance Division raises a brand new question and the file is being despatched again to the DJB. When that’s answered, a brand new question is being raised,” she stated.

“At this time, the scenario is such that contractors have refused to work. There are over ₹1,200 crore price of earlier payments pending with the Jal Board. I had directed the Principal Secretary (Finance) 5 occasions to launch funds, however he has not until now,” the Minister added.

‘L-G being misled’
