Japan re-creates lunar conditions to aid moon projects

TOKYO — Japanese companies and universities are organising take a look at websites that simulate circumstances on the floor of the moon, reminiscent of its gravity and communications delays, spurring hopes for Japanese contributions to lunar exploration.

The moon is about 380,000 kilometers away from Earth, with round a sixth of its gravity. Lunar exploration requires applied sciences suited to its atmosphere.
