A 22-year-old student has been found guilty of murdering his guardian, a consultant paediatrician from Kent.
David Quartley has been sentenced to life imprisonment and will serve a minimum of 15-years, the judge told Maidstone Crown Court on Thursday.
The court heard how he had stabbed to death Dr Victoria Anyetei during a frenzied attack in the driveway of the home they shared in Teynham Road, Dartford, on August 14 last year.
Detective Superintendent Anne Brittain, the senior investigating officer in the case, said: “Our thoughts today are with Victoria's son and family.
“They have been through a very difficult ordeal. Victoria was a family person, popular with her friends and colleagues. Her life was tragically taken away prematurely.”
