Amjad Khan
Exclusive by Glenn Pearson

Kent have a battle on their hands to keep Amjad Khan as two counties have engaged in talks with the fast bowler about a move away from St Lawrence.

With Khan in the last year of his contract at Kent, both Sussex and Somerset have expressed their interest in signing the Danish-born paceman after putting in a 28-day approach to speak to the player more than two months ago.

Khan has had initial talks with the two counties, while Kent have also been in discussion with the 29-year-old and his agent David Fulton in an attempt to keep him.

Head coach Paul Farbrace is keen to keep Khan at Kent, but said the decision now rests with the player.

He told Kent on Sunday: “We don’t want to lose him but it’s up to him to decide what’s best for him at this stage of his career. We want him to stay but it’s in his hands now.”
